4 Ways To Sleep Better

  • December 1, 2015

Home is where we go to get a good night’s sleep—to relax and unwind after a long day, get alone time or spend it with loved ones. So why not make the most of it and get the best night’s sleep? Read on for four ways to make your home even more relaxing.
1. Set aside time to wind down. Your body needs to transition from high energy throughout the day to a slower pace. Going to sleep relaxed will ensure that you won’t be restless throughout the night. The last ten or twenty minutes before you sleep should be spent unwinding—reading, listening to soothing music, or taking deep breaths.
2. Invest in a mattress that’s right for your body. When you sleep, your blood circulation slows down because of the pressure you apply for long periods of time. A good mattress will ease the pressure points on your body, allowing for better circulation. We recommend Tempur’s Sensation Matress which gives you weightless comfort combined with the buoyancy of traditional spring mattresses.

3. Support your neck and back properly. We sometimes tend to fall asleep sitting down, which can strain the neck and back. Invest in neck pillows and back rests for extra comfort wherever you sleep. Bring your Tempur Travel Pillow and Transit Pillow with you for long rides, and keep a Tempur Bed Wedge at home to support your back, whether you’re sitting or laying down.

4. Stabilize your body temperature. Your body becomes more sensitive to temperature when you sleep—extreme heat or cold can interrupt your sleep cycle and even cause insomnia. Make sure your blanket is warm (or cool) enough to maintain your normal body temperature.
