CIFF Guangzhou 2019 unveils the latest trends in the Asian and Global furniture markets

With 4344 exhibitors over 760,000 square meters of exhibition space and 297,759 trade visitors from China and from all over the world, the recently concluded CIFF (China International Furniture Fair) Guangzhou is a record breaker. The 5.6% rise in number of exhibitors and 35% increase in trade visitors compared to the previous year were primarily driven by innovation, quality, and technology.

 

Founded in 1998, CIFF is the world’s largest furniture exhibition that features industry interaction and all-around matching. Tagged as the “weatherglass of China’s furniture industry,” it is one of the most important business platforms in Asia. In 2015, the fair was held in Pazhou, Guangzhou (March) and Honggiao, Shanghai (September)—radiating into Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta. These locations have been hosting CIFF’s two annual legs ever since.

During the event, dozens of design events and seminars on various aspects of the furniture market presented new trends and offered inspiration for both designers and industry players. These creative discussions effectively recapitulated how thoughtful design of products and environments can positively affect our way of life. Moreover, partner brands also exhibited new collections and designs and over 50 companies organised on-site launch events.

As one of the most important trade events that offers goods and services that meet both domestic and international demands, CIFF Guangzhou 2019 also showed beautifully designed booths. This is the perfect venue for buyers, sellers, and designers—who are all becoming increasingly conscious of quality and craftsmanship in the most attractive price points.

The two phases of the 43rd CIFF both represented the entire supply chain of furniture. The first phase, ran from March 18-21, was dedicated to home furniture, home décor and home textile. There were also outdoor and leisure furniture. Meanwhile, the second phase, that ran from March 28 to 31, focused on office furniture and furniture for public spaces as well as machinery, materials, and components for the furniture industry.

Design, customization, minimalism, “mild-luxury” represented the main trends of CIFF, which played host to great number of creative brands and important international companies. Chinese designers Wen Hao, Zhu Xiaojie, Hou Zhengguang, Chen Xiangjing and Chai Xiaodong showed the trends that are currently shaping new Chinese design. Apart from finished goods, CIFF highlighted intelligent technologies and new developments in the field of furniture manufacturing.
