Commercial photographer Hub Pacheco will mount his first-ever solo photography exhibition entitled WALKTHROUGH on Saturday, October 6, 2018, 7-9PM at the Gallery, ASpace Greenbelt, Makati.

In WALKTHROUGH, Hub Pacheco not only takes but shows the road less traveled by shining a light on the often-ignored alleyways from around the world.

“While traveling, we almost always ignore sketchy-looking alleyways and head straight to the big main streets. I want to change that mindset,” Hub says. “Photography allows me a license to be curious and I want to show that there are countless stories and details to be discovered and experienced in these alleyways that we just pass by.” Much of daily life can be gleaned along streets and alleyways and this series hopes to encourage exploration beyond the typical tourist attractions.

This series also explores the evolution of alleyways in urban spaces, from the rough and undeveloped to the sprawling and commercially viable. The alleyway series unknowingly began in 2014 when Hub wandered the nearby streets of Taipei late one night. After noticing the quiet charm of the alleyways of Taipei, he began to search for more of these side streets on his succeeding trips.

The exhibition will feature various scenes from nearby Vietnam and Japan to much farther cities in France and Morocco. The series was even featured on London’s The Guardian on October 2016 (both online and in print) when Hub was in Vietnam shooting for the series.
