When anticipating guests who will spend a night or two (or more!) in your home, it is best to create a guest room where they can comfortably stay, sleep, and feel welcome. Follow these simple tips and ensure that the time they spend in your home is restful and most importantly, memorable for all the right reasons!
Prep the room
It is important to clean the room before your guests arrive to create a good impression and make them feel that they are expected. Make sure that you provide a complete set of freshly laundered beddings—pillows of varying sizes, cotton or linen sheets, and a combination of light and heavy blankets.
Comfort and space are your top priorities when preparing a guest room. Pass up on frilly and elaborate décor. Instead, opt for a simple vase with fresh flowers, a chic alarm clock, and some easy reading books.
If time permits, install curtains to heighten the sense of privacy. The main idea is to keep it low-key but classy and cozy.
Clear the closet
Create enough space in the cabinet and provide hangers that can hold various tops, pants, and coats. Assign a drawer where your guests can put their important belongings.
