When super Typhoon Odette (international name: Rai) entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) last December 14, strong winds have caused roofs to blown away and rainfall to enter into houses that triggered mass evacuations in Cebu, Southern Leyte, Bohol, Misamis Oriental, Surigao del Sur, Negros Occidental, and Negros Oriental, among others.

Families have lost their homes, livelihood and belongings. Municipalities had to give the devastating news that electricity might not be restored fully by Christmas time. It is heartbreaking to watch the news these days, although help is continuing to pour out from our generous fellow Filipinos. No amount is too small if you have the means to donate. Here are reputable organizations that are currently at work to help the victims of typhoon Odette, accepting monetary and in-kind donations:

Philippine Red Cross

The Philippine Red Cross deployed rescue vehicles and a team of volunteers to the affected areas of Typhoon Odette. The organization has called for an emergency appeal to aid those evacuated and are continuing to reach devastated areas.

You can send in donations through multiple channels here.
