1 | THE POSTER CLUB

Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, THE POSTER CLUB is an online store that, as the name suggests, curates posters and art prints of high quality and are exclusively sold only through THE POSTER CLUB. Greatly influenced by the Scandinavian lifestyle, fashion, and interior design, the site’s collections range from black and white drawings to abstract art prints and photos by both emerging and established artists.

However, it’s not only for art collectors; it is also for creators who want to have a platform to sell their craft. We first fell in love with its Instagram feed, and then stayed for the art selections that surely make great additions to any living space. If you fit THE POSTER CLUB’s style, submit your work via e-mail at [email protected] and wait up to 14 days of evaluation.

2 | Saatchi Art

Like THE POSTER CLUB,  Los Angeles-based online art gallery Saatchi Art offers a wide array of paintings, drawings, sculpture, and photographs by artists from around the world, emerging and established. What’s great for collectors is that Saatchi Art also offers free art advisory from its expert curators. How cool is that?

Meanwhile, creators can  accept and negotiate offers from collectors, or work with Saatchi Art curators on original commissions for Art Advisory clients. The studio also offers dedicated artist support and non-exclusive policy. If you’re up for Saatchi’s terms and conditions, follow its 4-step registration here.

3 | Redbubble

This Aussie art shop, Redbubble, has been a way for over 700,000 independent artists and designers to sell their creations. Collectors are able to buy not only art, but also stationery, fashion items like bags and clothes, accessories for phones and laptops, and of course, home décor.

If you’re a creator, all the works you upload to your shop in Redbubble will be turned into any of the mentioned categories. What about printing and shipping? Those are all on Redbubble.

4 | Minted

Another site that does what Redbubble does is Minted. The San Francisco-based online marketplace is where independent artists and designers (i.e. illustrators, textile designers, painters, marketers, stay-at-home moms) from 96 countries across the globe can share and sell their works.

However, unlike the first sites mentioned, Minted has a different approach to selecting works to market. If you’re an artist, the first step is to submit your work during one of Minted’s monthly design challenges for specific categories like wall art, home décor, and stationery. Your work then is critiqued and voted on by your co-artists on Minted as well as your potential buyers—a win-win situation for you, if you ask us, because you get to test the waters before you jump right in this kind of market. If your work wins, it gets sold on Minted and you get to set up your own store on the site.

5 | Society6

Society6 is much like Redbubble and Minted, an online marketplace that allows emerging and established artists to sell their works directly to the consumers. Based in Santa Monica, California, Society6 does the production of consumer goods (i.e. fine art prints, apparel, tech and home products), as well as the packaging and shipping.

Prints on furniture pieces are relatively new on Society6, and we’re so in love with the collection–prints on yoga mats are have just been included last January 2019. While the Society6 team does all these, you as an artist continue to control your rights over your work, even when it’s selected by the team’s retail partners. Neat, eh?
