“I wasn’t really into industrial things, but it ended up as this,” begins industrial loft unit owner Marc Lawrence Legaspi. Marc is an IT expert based in Singapore since 2010. With an established and stable career path, he purchased this 62.5-square meter loft in Manila as an investment. After a quick trip to Melbourne that Marc fall in love with the industrial style. “They had these brekkie cafes with brick walls and worn down architecture. That’s when I told myself, ‘I want my condo to look like that.’” Since Marc works abroad, he got the unit to have it rented while he’s away. Upon turnover, he knew the unit needed some sprucing up to entice potential renters. Being based in Singapore, he needed someone from Manila who could fulfill his vision. Luckily, his friend knew interior designer Kenj So. “I used to be a part of a design firm and this is the very first project I have done on my own, am just glad the client was very trusting,” shares Kenj. Upon entry, one can see the entire unit. The kitchen and dining room are combined to the left and the living area is straight ahead. The brick accent wall and the cement finishes make this industrial loft a dream space for any bachelor. 
This industrial loft has a kitchen that keeps up with its theme. Rough finihsed pipes and subway tiles add personality to this nook of the loft. Placed in front of the kitchen is a breakfast bar that transforms into a dining table for six people. 
For additional storage, the designer provided a pull-out shelf under the staircase. The wood detials add warmth to the cold industrial loft. 
The living room was elevated to visually separate it from the rest of the unit. Elevating areas can segregate areas from the rest of the unit without using dividers. Vintage trinkets and mementos found on the TV console were purchased by the owner from flea markets abroad.

In the second floor of the loft is the masters and a private bath. The only request the owner had for his bedroom is the headboard cubby where he could display his favorite items. Underneath the bed are drawers that serve as additional storage space 
By the bedroom is a luggage coffee table customized by the owner himself. “I’m into DIY-ing stuff. I got into the habit of try to do things on my own,” he shares. On the cement wall is a world map mural hand-painted by the designer’s uncle. 
On the left side of the bedroom is the owner’s personal workspace. The yellow lamp and red trash bin add color to the very industrial space.
