This Financial Adviser’s Family Living Area in Quezon City

Amelita Reyes’ modern retirement home is a testament to maximising spaces without compromising on aesthetic. Designed by IDr. Carlo Cam, the posh living area holds plush tufted sofas and other chairs that offer comfortable seating options. A brass Michael Cacnio sculpture of wild horses is placed on top of a quartz center table. Meanwhile a black art deco chandelier directs the eyes upwards, strategically placed to give visual weight to the ceiling effectively downplaying the scale. The homeowner and the designer both proudly share that the house is filled with affordable furniture and furnishing pieces. This Interior Designer’s Family Living Area in the South

Joy Ejercito, both interior designer and lady of the house, along with her husband Don, decided that the look of their home should be timeless, but it should require low maintenance. They used earth colors for most of the living area, with a touch of bright yellows and greens to enliven the space. The result renders a cozy yet elegant ambiance to the living room, with high gloss tile flooring and a curation of furniture pieces in gold and brown. The ceiling, balustrade, and steps are all made from solid wood, giving a warm appeal to the interiors. Some of the couple’s favorite statement pieces are the Barcelona piece by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and a black acrylic chair by Louis XVI.

Various shades of gray establish a neutral vibe, while the copper accent wall counters the steady feeling with pulsating energy. A wall stands as the star of the living area, tracing the height of the ceilings for an unusually elegant statement. Done in three different finishes—hairline, polished, and waves—the wall was among the top items on the homeowner’s wish list for this project. The copper wall provides a strong contrast against the opulent gray Minotti sofa that spans half of the living area, accessorized with pillows in shades of gray and blush.
